8:04 AM 2/25/2015 — The proposal known as "Net Neutrality" is being sold to the public as an equalizer that will punish Internet service providers for delivering faster speeds and bandwidth to those who pay more, and provide everyone with equal access to high-band connections. In reality, "Net Neutrality" allows the government to regulate content by placing the Internet under the control of the FCC, which will require anyone who operates a web site to purchase a license for it, and thus conform to government rules regarding what's on it. FatherVenditti.com© will never purchase a license for exercising freedom of speech, and will close this site in protest should a license for it be required. "Net Neutrality" is really nothing more than a disguised resurrection of the old "fairness doctrine," and its name is no more accurate than "the Affordable Care Act." Turning the Internet into a public utility will no more improve access to it than government regulation of the oil industry has lowered gas prices.
