[The Gospel lesson for today's Mass in the ordinary form is the same as that for Ember Friday of Lent in the extraordinary form, and a homily based on it is available here. The readings for each tradition given at left are, nonetheless, for today, for those who use the citations in their daily prayer.]

* Since Lent in the Byzantine Tradition begins on a Monday and not on a Wednesday, this is, in fact, the Fifth Tuesday of the Great Fast, and not the fourth. Likewise, while in the Roman Rite today is the Fourth Tuesday of Lent, tomorrow will be the Fifth Wednesday. Cf. the note regarding the designation of days during Lent, found here.
